Dr. Janet Gersten was born in Brookline, Massachusetts and earned her undergraduate degree at Brandeis University, graduating with honors. She attended medical school at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City and completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Jackson Memorial Hospital / University of Miami.

Following her residency training in 1983, Dr. Gersten started her private practice as one of the first female OB/GYNs in south Miami.

In 2000, Dr. Gersten combined her passions for patient care and the advancement of women’s health when she founded New Age Medical Research Corporation, a private clinical research study site. Since its inception, New Age has completed more than 100 major clinical trials and has generated numerous publications.

Over the years New Age has conducted clinical research on contraception, menopause, hormone replacement therapy, vaginal infections, menstrual disorders, urinary difficulties, sexual dysfunction, and other important health concerns.

Dr. Gersten’s dedication to service is exemplified by her volunteer work. Since 2009, she and her daughters have been active with Medical Students in Action, a non-profit group of physicians, medical students, and others that provide essential healthcare and health education to the underserved in the Dominican Republic.

The evolution of Dr. Gersten’s practice to now include her daughters is a dream come true!

Dr. Janet Gersten started New Age Medical Research Corporation in 2000.

We have completed over 100 major clinical trials and have generated numerous publications under Dr. Gersten’s direction. Four full-time board-certified doctors currently oversee all studies at New Age Medical Research. These doctors do not create or manufacture drugs. Instead, they act as a neutral third party who tests the drugs that someone else has manufactured. These studies are all highly regulated and New Age Medical Research is subject to random audits by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). When you volunteer to be a part of a clinical research trial, you are helping in the improvement of medical conditions and discovery of new drug treatments. Clinical trials are the main way new medications become available to the greater population and volunteers of all types are needed. All participants receive detailed information regarding the risks and benefits of each study and participation can be stopped at any time.
